You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
(Mathew 5: 13-14 AMP)
Welcome to our of month of IMPACT. It is a reminder to live boldly in your identity as a child of LIGHT and as the SALT of the earth. To ‘be salt’ means to deliberately seek to influence the people within your circle by showing them the unconditional love of Christ through good deeds.
This month’s theme is a call to not let tthe seemingly challenging issues of this present time prevent us from being vibrant examples of the life of light and salt the LORD has called us to live. We must at all times present ourselves as the vibrant expression of the image of God.
There would be hills to climb, mountains to conquer and challenges to deal with, but none of these should take aught out of the glory and splendour that God has so graciously bestowed on us. We must at all times remain lights in a dark world and through our shinning bring souls to His kingdom.
I have no doubt in my mind that God wants to use us in the upcoming days to impact others. He wants us to be encouragement to the weary wayfarer He brings our path daily. He wants us to be that dutiful priest standing between the porch and the altar interceding ceaselessly for those in dire need of divine intervention.
If we would only lift up our eyes and look, then would we behold the enormous and amazing opportunities beckoning on us; opportunities to greatly impact others and influence our world for Jesus. Just striving to be a “nice christian isn’t going to be enough this month; we must go the extra mile and make it our goal always to reflect Jesus. This is the only way our message to the world would be crystal clear. We must realize that making the difference begins with being different.
Make the most of every opportunity God gives you to make the difference, including your seat or position at work or on church. You may never know how many people secretly look up to you for godly example and leadership. It is wisdom to know that many more people see us than we know, and that we have many more secret disciples than we ever can imagine. Chances are that you just might be the only bible some people would ever read. So let your pages as they flip open day after day reflect the colour of Jesus and freely emit His fragrance.
Delight yourself in the LORD even in seemingly hard times as God could use those rich experiences as sources of succour to others in their hour of trial. Let Christ be both real and rich in all that you do. Set your eyes on those things which are truly needful, clear your windshield of all dirt so you could see clearly all that God has for you and all that He intends to accomplish through you this month.
As you go through the month, lean wholly on the Holy Spirit; sensitize yourself to know His voice through the Word and prayer. He knows how to lead you to the plane of uncommon impact. And when He does, be sure to keep always to the path of obedience and true submission even in the most unpleasant time. He is “our God forever, and will guide us till the end of time” (Psalm 48:14)
I pray that God blesses you as you make good things happen for people this month.
