July 2021: OUR MONTH OF BLESSINGS

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

God is a giver and that is His nature. Parents know how to bless their children; and our God much more so. Our Heavenly Father gives what is good to all those who ask of Him (Matthew 7:11). God loves each and every one of His children in a very special and unique way. And that love translates into spiritual and physical blessings. His will and ultimate pleasure is to see the good of His children. He lives so we could be saved, healed, blessed and filled with His sweet Holy Spirit. Hearing and answering our prayers is one of our heavenly Father’s sweetest delight. In and through all circumstances, God is always with us to defend, protect and deliver all that call upon Him out of a pure an sincere heart.

It is nevertheless vital that we understand God’s methods and resources. His ways are higher than ours, but He has given us His Word and invited us to ponder His thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9; 1 Corinthians 2:16). His abundance is clearly evident all the way from Genesis to Revelation. There is more than enough of Jesus than could ever be depleted. He is enough for everybody, for every race or tribe and for all generations. Christ is all sufficient and can do far more abundantly beyond all we could ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

The sustenance and the assurance that build our faith come from daily feeding on the bread of God’s Word (Mathew 6:11). It is imperative that we take time out every day to shift our attention onto Jesus. God is honoured when we are fixated on how good, how big and how awesome He is. We may occasionally need to turn off our TVs or radios, lock up or keep away our phones for a while, just so we could run away from the distractions that these often represent and so open our hearts to God.

There is no doubting the fact that each and every one of us matters to God and daily He seeks only those things which would truly benefit us. We therefore must daily submit our hearts, our will and our ways to His will and freely embrace the reality that He wants to bless us. We must daily dwell in the consciousness that God wants to do big things through us, and so reach out and trust Him to use us to make a difference on the earth.

And as we go through this month of July, let us resolve to daily declare boldly like the psalmist that “in the morning I will get up and seek God (Psalm 5:3). For surely, the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). We must daily acknowledge both in words and in deeds that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). Remind yourself always that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).

Stay Blessed and Happy New Month!
