Jesus taught us the importance of staying focused and committed when He said “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” This reminds us of Lot’s wife, who disobeyed God and looked back, turning into a pillar of salt. Looking back means longing for our old life before following Jesus. It shows that our hearts are divided, and this slows down our journey towards God’s kingdom.
Following Jesus is the best decision we can make. Nothing in our old life or the world can compare to the joy and fulfillment that comes from being in God’s kingdom.
God loves us deeply and wants our complete devotion. He knows that turning back to the world only brings pain, while staying with Him brings true peace and happiness. We must understand that everything we need is found in God. The world may look appealing, but it brings sorrow, unlike God’s blessings, which bring joy. If Lot’s wife had trusted that God would restore everything she lost, her story would have been different. We need to keep our eyes on God, trust His promises, and never look back at the past. When we do this, we will see God’s goodness unfold in our lives. Hallelujah!
